El Al Israel Airways Ltd. (TASE:ELAL) CEO Dina Ben-Tal Ganancia has told the Google tourism conference in Tel Aviv that the provider programs to launch immediate flights to Melbourne, Tokyo and Japan. All three new routes were announced in 2019 in advance of the outbreak of the Covid pandemic and then canceled when intercontinental vacation was disrupted.

Assuming that El Al is granted permission to fly about Saudi airspace, flights from Tel Aviv to Melbourne in Australia will just take 15 several hours, related to the length involving Tel Aviv and Los Angeles, one more route on which El Al is the only carrier, Ben-Tal Ganacia explained. El Al will also be the only provider functioning on the routes in between Tel Aviv and Tokyo and Tel Aviv and Dublin.

Ben-Tal Ganacia also advised the meeting that in 5 years, El Al expects that 80% of ticket revenue will be through electronic channels. At existing 35% of tickets are sold by using the Web and application and together with electronic bookings by vacation brokers this climbs to 50%.
